Please note the following care instructions: The tip of the probe tube can be run under a tap or cleaned with a damp rag. Keep the probe cable away from heating elements, flames, coals, grill or oven racks, as they can reach temperatures far higher than 500°F. Avoid repeated kinking or twisting of the probe cable, as this can break the wires over time. With moderate care, these probes will last a long time.
- Do not immerse the probe wire or the housing in water, as this could cause the probe to short out. It is, however, okay to immerse the probe itself in water.
- Clean and dry the probe thoroughly after each use with a damp cloth.
- Always insert your probe in the thickest parts of the meat, while avoiding fatty or bony areas.
These durable and accurate probes feature a hybrid design that allows you to monitor either the meat temperature or the ambient temperature (smoker/grill). The step-down probe design retrieves temperature precisely and quickly, alerting you to temperature changes in seconds.
The replacement probes are compatible with the following Thermopro models: TP20, TP20S, TP17, TP16, TP-16S, TP09, TP09B, TP08, TP08s, TP07, TP07s, TP06, TP06s, and TP04. They are also compatible with the Famili models: MT004, OT007, OT009, TP-10, MT-16, and OT-08.
The package contents include 2 probes and 1 clip, which are both BBQ and oven safe. The clip hole size is 0.16in/4mm dia. The probe temperature range is 32°F to 572°F (0°C to 300°C), and the 40" stainless steel mesh cables are rated for 716°F, connecting the thermometer to the base located outside of the oven/grill/smoker. To test the accuracy of the probe, simply insert it into ice water. The probes have an accuracy of ±1.8°F (±1°C).
